Watkins Manufacturing Receives ISO 9001 Certification From Lloyd's Register Quality Service

VISTA, CA Watkins Manufacturing Corporation, makers of Hot Spring®, Tiger River® and Hot Spot® spas, has received ISO 9001 certification from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, one of the most demanding and prestigious registrars in the world. This certification recognizes that Watkins has quality systems in place which meet strict international standards.

After a rigorous audit, Watkins' quality processes successfully passed the 1994-revised ISO 9001 standard that spans over 20 quality components of management, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and customer service. Additionally, Watkins is one of the few companies to be awarded its certification at the conclusion of its initial ISO 9001 audit.

Originally published in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization in Geneva, Switzerland to further a truly integrated common market, ISO 9001 is a generic system that specifies the necessary components of a quality system. ISO 9000 is not specific to any one industry, but details a list of standards that encompass the quality function for all industries. The three certifications include, ISO 9001 (all quality systems), ISO 9002 (manufacturing), and ISO 9003 (product inspection/tests).
