Great tub - but the IQ Salt System is a Failure

I have owned a Hot Spring spa for nearly 20 years, replacing my older Sovereign with a new Prodigy just 3 months ago. From its installation, the IQ Salt System has not worked adequately. The Water Care screen provides false readings of the chlorine and PH level compared to that which I get from water tests. HS's customer service is NO HELP!

Constant Issues

My Prodigy hot tub is less than a year old and has had constant issues with it. The instruction manual is iffy at best and every couple of weeks we get a new issue. The latest one basically makes the hot tub unusable where it just has a constant flashing res indicator and none of the troubleshooting steps in the booklet help. Anytime a service member needs to come out it is an $85 fee at the minimum. DO NOT spend the $17,000 for something like this; you'd be better getting a cheaper costco hottub. It would still have issues but you'd save $12,000.

Great buy! Family loves it

We love our Prodigy. It fits our family of 5 just perfectly. We received it right before Christmas and use it two to three times a week. We love having our family in it because it’s a break from electronics. You can actually talk to your kids and they won’t be distracted.

My 1998 Hot Springs Prodigy is hands down the best hot tub I’ve ever owned! The perfect size, powerful jets, and easy maintenance make it an absolute dream. Whether I’m soaking to relieve stress or enjoying it with family, it never disappoints. The quality and comfort are unmatched—worth every penny! Highly recommend to anyone looking for the best in relaxation!

All in all, the spa is terrific, however, I purchased the Highline series supposedly for the ease of water maintenance. This is not the case as it is impossible to monitor water quality since the monitoring system has been a complete failure. . My dealer has gone over and above to help me solve this issue and continue to be there for me, Tampa Bay Spas is the best.

Excellent Quality Spa

This is my second Prodigy spa. We love the way it looks and the seating is great too. The size is roomy for 2 adults and too cozy for 4. 5 people would be 2 adults and 3 children.The continuous circulation pump is a feature I wanted again so we got a 2024 model after having a 2010 model previously. The saltwater fresh system is an excellent innovation. The built in sensors are helpful but not 100% reliable. The insulation is not as good as the salesman claimed. I turned the temperature down from 101 to 91 because we were going on vacation and in less than 18 hours it had dropped the 10 degrees with overnight outside temperature reaching 52. One issue is that a lot of water collects along the top flat edges above the tub when the cover is on and the water becomes quite cold. They should have beveled the sides a little into the tub. Overall, Hot Springs makes a very good quality ho t tub

If the spa heat is turned off and the cover is left open or the jets are running, the ambient air can cool the water down quickly, which can be frustrating. Trouble at the very beginning with brown sludge

Hot tub delivered 9/12/2024 after filling and adding chemicals used it for 20 minutes The next time we used it 9/28 turned on jets and a slug brown foam came up in filter compartment.I have been trying to resolve with dealer "Coastal Spa" from 9/28 until 10/17 unable to use Hot Tub . Reason given for my problems is that the manufacturers clean out Tub and flush out it and perhaps they didn't get everything out of hoses, I believe there is a connection with the Hot Tub having capabilities of having a salt system and a regular. The first Prodigy we had for 10 years and never a problem. Hopefully we do not have a defective Hot Tub and have to return for a replacement. Sorry I couldn't give a good rating at this time.
